General safety guidelines for working in the Structural Engineering Laboratories.

General Safety Guidelines

  • All students working in the laboratory must sign the safety undertaking and follow the same. Before using any equipment, Students are advised to go through the safety manuals associated with each equipment.
  • Safety shoes and helmets must be worn at all times in laboratory while operating machines and conducting tests. Non-Compliance of same may lead to disciplinary action.
  • Stripped electrical wire (if any) associated with equipment should not be touched with bare hands. Same should be reported immediately to the concerned staff.
  • Fire safety training programs are being organized from time to time. Students are advised to take part in them.
  • P.S.: All students must make an entry in the Record register (available with Technical Staffs) before using equipment for their tests.
